Doughnut Apple Recipe

Prep everything with children

Adults will need to help handling the knife and cutting out the core

Verbally teach children and encourage children to do it by themselves. Patience is the key!
Equipment
3 small bowls
3 spoons
1 knife
1 small circle cutter - big enough to cut out the core
Large bowl with water and lots of salt
Kitchen tissue
Grater
Ingredients
12 oz. cream cheese, softened, cut into thirds / plain yogurt
2 tsp. honey, divided
1/2 c. melted chocolate
A bar of chocolate
3 large Fuji apples
6 strawberries

Method

Cut approximately 3/4 inches thick off the top and bottom of the apples. Keep the rest of the apples to eat!

Use the circle cutter and 2 hands to cut out the core of the apple slices

Put the apples into the large bowl of water and salt. Keep it in the fridge until use

Divide the cream cheese/yogurt between the 3 bowls

Mix in honey in one bowl

Mix in melted chocolate in the 2nd bowl

Remove the stem off strawberries. Cut into small pieces

Get the apple out of the fridge and drain out the water

Pat the apples dry with kitchen tissue

Spread on the honey mixture with a spoon covering the flat side of two apples.

Use the spoon to drizzle the honey over them

Spread on the chocolate mixture with a spoon covering the flat side of two apples

Grate on some chocolate shavings using the grater.

Spread on the remaining cream cheese/sour cream on the remaining apples.

Add the chopped strawberries on top of the cream cheese/sour cream

Place the finished donut apples in the fridge to chill, or eat them right away!
